Methodology

Czech language courses are taught by experienced and trained instructors, often local Bohemists or dispatched teachers, who usually master the language of the territory. The aim of the courses is to teach students effective communication in Czech based on a communicative approach. Students become acquainted with Czech culture and realities through the Czech language, preparing for studies in the Czech Republic and/or for taking internationally recognized exams in the Czech language (CCE).

Teaching materials include, for example, textbooks Czech Step by Step, Czech Express, Czech for Foreigners, Basic Czech, Preparing for the Certified Exam in Czech and other accompanying materials (e.g. Left Back, Czech for Life, Domino, Adapted texts by Lída Holá, etc). Work is also done with a comprehensive database of internal teaching materials.

Teaching is adapted to territorial specifics and connected to the cultural program of the given center. Online teaching utilizes platforms such as ZOOM and Google Classroom.

The priority is methodological support for teachers, collaboration with the Association of Teachers of Czech as a Foreign Language and with UJOP UK. Instructors are sent to methodological symposia and training. Czech centers also provide internal methodological training.
