About us

The Czech Centres are an institute of public diplomacy established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Our main mission is to support the good reputation of the Czech Republic abroad and to strengthen cultural relations between countries. As a cultural institute, we are a member of the network of foreign European cultural institutes – EUNIC. We present our country in a wide range of cultural and social areas: from art to creative industries to promoting the achievements of Czech science and innovation. We also provide Czech language classes and participate in organising certified language exams. Additionally, we engage in international projects and serve as a platform for the development of international cultural dialogue.

At present, there are 26 branches across 4 continents.

Since January 2023, the network of Czech Centres also includes the Office of the General Commissioner for the Czech Republic’s participation in the World Expo. The two institutions aim to deepen mutual cooperation and create even greater synergy in presenting the Czech Republic abroad.
