The first Czech female composer and conductor, author of the Military Sinfonietta performed by the BBC London Orchestra under her conduction at the opening of the International Society for Contemporary Music festival in 1938. She privately studied composition with prominent Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů, who lived in France at that time.
