Press trips

Press trips

Press trips are part of the activities of Czech Centers in the field of public diplomacy and primarily serve to promote Czech culture, art, and other cultural events in foreign media. This form of support has long been one of the effective tools for building media relations, increasing the visibility of the Czech cultural scene, and deepening understanding in an interdisciplinary context.

Journalists from prominent foreign media operating in the fields of music, design, film, theater, photography, and literature regularly visit the Czech Republic as part of journalist trips. The trips take place both individually and as part of prestigious festivals and cultural events – such as the Prague Spring, Smetana's Litomyšl, MFDF Ji.hlava, Janáček Brno, Designblok, or Lunchmeat Festival.

For example, in 2024, 14 journalist trips were held, attended by representatives of media from 9 countries – including France, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Belgium, Slovakia, Poland, and Greece.

The outputs from these visits contribute to the long-term building of the image of the Czech Republic as a culturally rich, open, and inspiring country and support international dialogue and networking across fields.
