Contemporary authors, non-traditional venues and well-known personalities: this is the face of a series of public readings – the Literature Night.
The Literature Night is a project of the Czech Centres, organized in collaboration with EUNIC since 2006. The event aims to introduce the public to contemporary European literature, showcasing its latest ideas and creative directions. It also highlights the vital role of translations from both major and lesser-known languages.
Since its inception in 2006, Literature Night has been held in Prague and across the Czechia. The event also has a long-standing tradition in Bratislava, Budapest, Paris, and Sofia. In recent years, it has expanded beyond Europe, with editions taking place in New York, Tel Aviv, and Cairo.
