Reading Havel
It can be assumed that many people outside Czechia are familiar with the name Havel.
But do they also know his texts? Have they read any of them?
The aim of the project READING HAVEL is to bring closer the key texts of Czechoslovakia's and the first president of Czechia Václav Havel who would this autumn celebrate his 85th birthday.
The project builds on the original concept of the Václav Havel Library www.cisthavla.cz, which has been running for several years and is aimed primarily at young readers in Czech primary and secondary schools.
We approached prominent public figures who met Václav Havel and/or who are his supporters (whether in the Czechia or abroad) to read selected excerpts from his texts.
