How many times in your life do you have the opportunity to find yourself in the hangar where MiG-21 started? Most of us never, but one such uncontrolled missile - the band Mig 21 - in this aeronautical test room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the airport in Hradec Králové built a stage right in front of the unique turboprop engine GE Catalyst, which was developed within the collaborative research of GE Aviation Czech and CTU.

The new GE Catalyst turboprop engine is the first completely newly developed turboprop engine in more than 30 years. Catalyst includes a number of new technologies first used in turboprop engines, but also aircraft engines in general.

The concert will take place in a hangar at the airport in Hradec Králové, where a new model of the aircraft engine is being developed and from where the MiG aircraft used to take off. The CTU is the only university in the world that has got such aviation testing facilities available.

Two interviews will be part of the programme, conducted by Tomáš Frode with the rector of CTU Doc. Vojtěch Petráček and the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Michael Valášek.
