SDGs: Innovations for a Sustainable Future

SDGs: Innovations for a Sustainable Future

Major global challenges – as well as the scientific pathways toward solving them – serve as the inspiration for the exhibition SDGs: Innovations for a Sustainable Future.

This interactive exhibition in augmented reality, artistically designed by Pavel Fuksa, demonstrates how scientific progress and innovation contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals for transforming our world were adopted by all member states of the United Nations in 2015. Among other objectives, they include plans to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve gender equality, and address climate threats by 2030.

The exhibition demonstrates the power of human creativity, critical thinking, and originality in searching for answers to some of humanity’s most difficult questions. Will we be able to feed a constantly growing population? How can violence against women be stopped? How will humans share work with robots? Can humanity save a planet that it is destroying through its own pace of development? Can we effectively fight fake news? In addition, the exhibition presents important international research infrastructures and scientific institutions operating directly in the Czech Republic, whose research focuses on the current challenges of the globalized world. The exhibition was created as a joint project of the Czech Centres and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. It is part of the programme of the Czech Republic’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2022.
