ONTO THE SEA!

New Voices of Czech Poetry in the International Arena

Text – Space – Sound – Image – Movement – Technology

The project is an open platform for young Czech poetry that transcends genre and linguistic boundaries. It connects poets of the new generation with the international scene and explores ways in which poetry can exist beyond the printed page — in space, in sound, in image, and in movement.

Poetry is not conceived as a closed text, but as a living organism that responds to the transformations of the contemporary world. The project builds on the authentic voices of young authors, their sensitivity, and their courage to experiment. The themes explored by young poetry are dynamic and evolving: digital reality, identity and corporeality, migration and multilingualism, the relationship to nature, spirituality, and the intersection of science and art.

The aim of the project is to present distinctive voices of contemporary Czech poetry, to support their international collaboration and networking, and at the same time to open a discussion about the role and form of poetry in today’s world. The project is set to premiere at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026, yet its true ambition lies in fostering a long-term network of relationships, exchange, inspiration, and participation in international professional opportunities.
