This year, the Czech Centres network is commemorating what would have been the 90th birthday of Václav Havel – playwright, essayist, dissident, and the first President of the Czech Republic after the Velvet Revolution. The main programme will take place in the autumn, in conjunction with the anniversary of his birth on 5 October.
