Václav Havel would have celebrated his 85th birthday this year. Let us remember his immortal thoughts! The project #readinghavel is a series of readings of excerpts from Havel's texts, presented by prominent personalities from the Czech Republic and abroad. Watch the salutation by the Director General of the Czech Centres Ondřej Černý. The project Reading Havel was created in cooperation with the Václav Havel Library. The project builds on the original project Reading Havel of the Václav Havel Library and brings it abroad. The Czech Centres in Athens, Bratislava, Budapest, London, New York, Paris, Rotterdam, Rome, Seoul and Warsaw will participate in reading excerpts from Havel's Letters to Olga and A Word about Words.
The invitation to “read Havel” was accepted by Taťána Gregor Brzobohatá, Radka Denemarková, Ewa Farna, Agnieszka Holland, Martha Issová, Aneta Langerová, Pavel Fischer, Tomáš Halík, Patrik Hábl, Bessel Kok, Romano Prodi, Prokopis Pavlopoulos and others.
The readings will be published one by one be in the following weeks. Keep your eyes open!
