EUNIC Cluster Prague
The Prague cluster was one of the first clusters to
be founded in 2006. It currently has 16 full members, one associated member
(British Council) and several partners including the Representation of the
European Commission in the Czech Republic. Since September 2023 the cluster is presided
by the Instituto Cervantes.
The Prague
cluster dedicates itself to a number of well-established projects with
significant partners every year:
- Literature Night - The literary project organised since 2006 which is dedicated to
introducing current European literature to wide public through a series of
public readings in Prague.
- Diploma Selection - The international competition for the best European diploma
(graduation) work in the fields of product and fashion design organised within
Designblok festival.
- European Day of Languages - The
project celebrating language and cultural diversity organised jointly with the
Representative of the European Commission in Prague.
In addition to these regular projects the members of the Prague cluster cooperate on new projects and initiatives often funded by the EUNIC Cluster Fund.
- Nature Future – Young European Photography - As part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the French Institute in Prague in partnership with European cultural institutes associated in the EUNIC cluster Prague (including the Czech Centres) prepared the photography exhibition curated by the French Collective Fetart. The exhibition focused on the topics of climate and ecology was presented until August 2022 in Kampa park in Prague.
- Dig Deep – The exhibition of contemporary visual art organized by the Slovak Institute in Prague in cooperation with the Czech Centres, the Polish Institute and the Hungarian Cultural Centre. The exhibition featured artists from the V4 countries and one artist from Ukraine. The project received the patronage of EUNIC cluster Prague. The exhibition was on display in the new premises of the Slovak Institute in Prague from August to September 2023.
- Sharing Ukrainian Stories in Prague - The unique project providing a platform for testimonies about the situation and life in Ukraine, but also about the lives of those who became victims of war and those who had to flee their country. Running under the leadership of the French Institute in Prague from November 2023 to June 2024, the project has received support from the Culture of Solidarity - EUNIC Ukraine Fund.
