Artmat & Czech Centres
Artmat & Czech Centres are jointly presenting special editions of artworks for the foreign public since 2022, focusing on predetermined themes responding to the contemporary world. Artmat is the first project in Czechia that showcases the work of the contemporary Czech art scene in a wide range of artistic expressions through repurposed vending machines available at selected locations, primarily in public urban spaces.
The editions of artworks, curated by Josefína Frýbová and Petra Widžová, are produced in limited quantities, making them potential collectible items. These works span various genres, from illustration and photography to applied arts, including textiles. The choice of specific foreign locations for the vending machines is based on the potential for collaboration with interesting partner institutions and may also feature works by local artists.
