On 7 May 2021 the EUNIC London Presidency, represented among others also the director of the Czech Centre London Mr Přemysl Pela, signed a strategic partnership in the form of a “Memorandum of Understanding” (MoU) with the EU Delegation to the UK represented by His Excellency João Vale de Almeida.

The objective of this strategic partnership is to organise, support and mutually foster a series of intercultural relations and joint cultural activities aiming to promote European Culture in the UK and collaboration among European and British partners.

In Ambassador Vale de Almeida’s words: “The MoU reinforces one of the priorities of the EU Delegation to the UK to engage with local stakeholders and to mutually foster joint cultural activities which raise the visibility of EU creative sector in the UK”

On behalf of the EUNIC London, Přemysl Pela states: “I’m very pleased and I would like to thank the Ambassador and the EU Delegation team for their foresight and endorsement of our strategic collaboration. The MoU unveils vast scope of opportunities to strengthen and support from the very first day a number of projects, such as the In Short, Europe Festival, the EUNICAST podcast series Meet Visionary Europeans or the EUNIC Artificial Intelligence Science Café discussion series.”

“The leading initiative of EUNIC London to institutionalize and foster collaboration with the EU Delegations and/or EU representations might be inspirational to more than hundred EUNIC clusters around the world to develop collaborative and efficient framework of promoting intercultural relations and European culture around the globe.” adds Pela, Director of Czech Centre London and President of EUNIC London.
