Teaching Czech and promoting Czech Studies

We are systematically expanding the opportunity to study the Czech language abroad.

Czech is currently taught at 14 Czech Centres abroad (Berlin, Budapest, Bucharest, Kyiv, London, Milan, Munich, Moscow, New York, Paris, Sofia, Tokyo, Warsaw, Vienna). We provide language courses at CEFR levels A1 – C1. In cooperation with the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies at Charles University (ILPS), we organize an internationally accredited Czech language exam at 10 different branches abroad.

Our Teaching Centres are provide educational environment. With the help of ILPS, we create high-quality methodological support for our tutors by giving them the opportunity to further their education in teaching Czech as a foreign language. The teaching centres have refined experienced professionals. Additionally, we develop other teaching tools such as regular testing classrooms and the use of electronic diagnostic tests.

We expand Czech language courses beyond our representative offices abroad, for instance in Ukraine from Kyiv to Lviv, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk.

We focus on the development of Bohemian studies abroad and the cultivation of the Czech language. In cooperation with the Czech Literary Centre (CLC) we organise Susanna Roth Award an annual international competition for emerging translators under 40.
